This is an ideal choice if you don’t want to hire a car. Our favourite hotels in the greater Waterfront area are Cape Royale Hotel & Spa, V&A Hotel and Cape Grace.
If you are a return visitor or a bit more adventurous and hire a car, then you can start to move further afield to areas such as Camps Bay, Clifton and the Southern Suburbs. Personal favourites here include Vineyard Hotel & Spa, Four Rosmead, POD Camps Bay and Sea Five.
Cape Royale Hotel & Spa
Located within walking distance to the Famous V&A Waterfront, Cape Royale Hotel & Spa offers guests a large choice of elegantly decorated suits suitable for couples, honeymooners and families alike.
With its French looking, 11 floor, flag stone facade, you might be fooled into thinking you’re in Paris but once the sea breeze greets you and you catch a glimpse of Table Mountain you’ll be in no doubt that you’re in Cape Town.

Victoria & Alfred Hotel
This well appointed hotel was the first Waterfront hotel ever to be built.
In 1904 it was opened as the North Quay Warehouse and many years later, in 1990, was converted to a luxury hotel. It is named in honour of the Queen of England and her son who visited the Cape in 1870.
The hotels’ 94 en-suite rooms are spacious, well equipped and creatively styled making it a vibrant and cosmopolitan hotel for any visitor.
The onsite restaurant spills out onto the quayside walkway where you can sit back, relax and enjoy a cocktail with breathtaking views of Table Mountain. They also serve fantastic seafood such as crayfish (lobster), mussels, fish & prawns as well as local delicacies
Cape Grace Hotel
This hotel speaks for itself so I feel I don’t need to say much! A 5 star gem within the Waterfront but with enough space to make you feel you are not in the city.
Each room has been individually decorated and the feeling of opulence and grandeur is present but not overwhelming.
Each room & suite is fully kitted with all you might need from a writing pad & pen, IPod docking station and beautiful views of either the marina or mountain; you will be hard pressed to leave this hotel when the time comes.
Bascule Bar is a favourite spot amongst locals for after work drinks in the summer months. You should get there early to enjoy some fantastic whiskies from around the world whilst taking in the views of Table Mountain and enjoying the cosmopolitan vibe of the Waterfront.
Located in the leafy suburb of Newlands this beautiful hotel offers guests a quiet sanctuary amongst beautiful gardens. It is within walking distance to the local mall, Cavendish Square, where you’ll be able to shop till you drop at both local & international branded stores.
The hotel has a wide variety of rooms to offer guests including a private house for families or someone wanting a longer, more self-catered option.
If you’d prefer to just spend some time relaxing at the hotel they have both indoor & outdoor swimming pools and a well fitted gym. You can order light snacks and drinks from the pool bar so there’s no need to really lift a finger!
The spa offers out of this world treatments and is a ‘must do’ if you have some spare time on your hands.
This is a great option of hotel if you want to catch a game of rugby at Newlands Stadium or cricket at Newlands Cricket ground.

The Rose Bar is frequented by locals and travellers alike in the summer months for after work drinks and afternoon catch up sessions with friends.

This is a great hotel from which to spend days exploring the local wine farms or venturing further along the coastline to Cape Point or heading in towards the city.
